Pastor Carson

Pastor Ellis K. Carson is a Provisional Elder of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. As of July 1, 2017 he was appointed as Pastor of the Mt. Tabor - Celia Phelps charge.
 
His ministry emphases include a foundation on prayer, a passion for God’s Word, demonstrating the love of God, spiritual development for all ages, dynamic worship, community engagement and community development.
 
Previously, Pastor Carson served as the Pastor of the Central - St. Stephen charge in Thomasville and Lexington. He served as Assistant Pastor of St. Paul UMC in Winston-Salem, a Ministry Intern at Mount Pleasant UMC in Greensboro, and as a Chaplain Intern at the Greensboro Urban Ministry. Prior to living in Greensboro, he served in various ministry capacities as a layperson at Windsor Village UMC, Houston, TX.
 
Pastor Carson has a background in finance, accounting, sales, marketing, and recruiting. For ten years, he was the owner of Fisher Recruiting Consultants, Inc. He is a Master of Divinity graduate of Duke Divinity School and holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of the Baltimore County, Maryland Public School system.
 
Pastor Carson is the husband of Dr. Terri J. Carson. They have been married for nineteen years and have three children.
